A Grandmother's Zen Moments...

I was mowing this afternoon at the farm. I love Christopher's garden tractor...it's the only motorized vehicle I can run, other than my car. It is a very peaceful time, and gives me time to observe what is going on out there. Chase and Chance are not yet growing tired of riding their gators around the farm. Great Grandma made them fleece pants with John Deere designs on them and they folded their new pants and put them in the boxes of the gators and drove them around for hours. Devon's new colt was grazing in the yard and at one time realized he was all alone at the edge of the farm and started calling nervously. Buck, Moose and Summer made a b-line for the lonely horse and all sprawled in the grass around him and he went back to grazing, contentedly. The chickens and ducks started to follow the mower in the backyard. I guess they realized I was stiring up the bugs. Payton and her friend were putting up a (I think) volleyball net in the riding arena. Chris came home from town and began puttering around in his shop and soon I could smell the talapia Gayle was frying in the kitchen. It was a peaceful, beautiful evening and I am thankful for every minute I spend there.

Very nice...it was a lovely day. Those pictures should be in a book or something....a grandma book or back to nature or something or far from the madding(?) crowd....
